Mrs. Marlo Thomas is a Little Rock native. She started working at UAMS in 2010 in the Division of Laboratory Animal Medicine as an Administrative Analyst. Her role was soon expanded, allowing her to be promoted to Department Business Coordinator. It is in this role that Marlo was exposed to the platform of Equality and Inclusion in the workforce. This exposure opened up additional opportunities which included a concurrent role in The Center for Diversity Affairs, as the SEED Coordinator. In 2020, Marlo’s drive and commitment to UAMS have allowed her to once again expand and grow as she is now the Executive Assistant III within the Division for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion while still maintaining her role as the Seed coordinator.
Mrs. Thomas has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Indiana University/Purdue University of Indianapolis where she lived for 10 years before returning to Arkansas. She is currently working on an MS at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Marlo loves to listen and share her ideas on Diversity & Inclusion. In her spare time, she serves in her community through the Order of the Eastern Stars.
