In Spring 2012, UAMS students initiated the formation of the LGBT Health Alliance. The goals of the group are:
1. To provide a safe and secure environment for LGBT students, faculty and staff, and their allies.
2. To help educate students, faculty and staff on issues facing the LGBT population to ensure culturally competent health care professionals.
3. To engage with the LGBT community at large to develop collaborative partnerships to foster health.
A Message from our President
As President, I aim to unify our members and amplify LGBTQ+ voices across our campus. I am impassioned to advance LGBTQ+ advocacy and improve diversity across all Arkansas health systems and beyond. I am deeply honored to head our organization which engages members from all colleges within the UAMS system. My immediate goal is expansion of LGBTQ+ focused outreach and volunteerism throughout Arkansas. Please fill out our Membership Form if you are an LGBTQ+ student or straight ally interested in joining. Do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you have.
