The Center for Diversity Affairs (CDA) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) will sponsor the summer research internship for interested high school upperclassmen and college students who would like to pursue a career in medicine, pharmacy, biochemistry, biomedical research, pharmacology, public health, or behavioral sciences, with possible additional fields of study based on the availability of the UAMS faculty. The students who are accepted into this program will conduct research under the supervision of their faculty mentor as well as the people working with the faculty, such as the postdoctoral fellows, research assistants/associates, and research coordinators. During research, the students will receive a stipend for their work. At the conclusion of the internship, the students will be required to present their work in the Mid-Summer Research Conference on the UAMS campus; the conference will be open for all UAMS faculty, staff, and students to attend.
Program Dates: June 8th to July 24, 2020 (Tentative Dates)
- Electronic Application must be completed and submitted by March 20, 2020.
- An interview with the CDA on UAMS campus in Little Rock, AR. If you currently reside outside of Arkansas, an alternative interview method, e.g. conference or video call, will be utilized.
