
UAMS LGBTQ+ Subcommittee is an advisory body that promotes a welcoming and affirming campus climate by increasing inclusion, awareness, and education while advocating for equitable health care services for students/trainees, employees, patients, and the community we serve.
Focus Groups
- Climate- social activities, representation through social media and advertisements, policy advising to leadership including gender neutral pronouns, single stall bathrooms gender neutral bathrooms, policy about dress code, planning events.
- Education/Awareness- Curriculum development, training for specific populations (student recruiters, hiring managers, leaders) professional development, teaching opportunities for employees and community, bias training, safe zone training
- Services- Resources including resource guide, partnership with community organizations
- Policy-recommendations to leadership for current/new policies to ensure equity (as needed)

HRC Foundation Webinars and Trainings
The HRC Foundation and our partners offer over 60 different free online, on-demand CME accredited LGBTQ training options to all staff at facilities participating in HRC’s Healthcare Equality Index. These training
options include both interactive eLearning courses and recorded webinars. Topics range from the basics of LGBTQ Patient-Centered Care to more specialized topics for clinicians.
